03 June 2014
This year seems to be carrying on at a relentless pace, with the date advancing one day each day. Time flies when you’re having fun. I’m a big fan of June, because it’s my birthday soon!
Before I go on, there are some gigs coming up – some fun to be had. Come on down! I’m booking some more gigs in the autumn – do get in touch if you’d like one!
Now is also a good time to check out my music in the online store – the whole back catalogue is currently “name your price” so it’s a great time to get some music for whatever you can afford. Download, listen, tell your friends.
I’m spending some time over the next few months, writing and thinking about what’s next. When I know what’s next, I’ll be sure to let you know. Meantime, I have some songs to sing, some new people to sing them too. Sounds good!
29 April 2014
Well, April has nearly run away from us. It’s been a crazy few weeks. I really enjoyed meeting some of you on the Caffe Nero tour, and making some new friends. Thanks to all those who came along, chatted, bought CDs etc. The hot chocolates and vanilla frappes were good too.
Then it was great to spend 4 nights doing shows with the marvellous Paul Kerensa at Spring Harvest. Comedy, music, chat, a christmas hat. It was all good. Then it was one of my favourite gigs of the year so far in North Wales at the Word Alive festival – broadcast live on the chalet TV as well. Much fun and jolly japes, and some good tunes.
Then to cap it all, Clare Balding played “Love is happening” from “Small Town Boy” on her Radio 2 show.
So all in all, a good month!
Looking ahead, I’m pleased to announce an appearance at Cornbury Festival in leafy Oxfordshire – I’m playing the Caffe Nero Marquee on the Saturday lunchtime. Sounds fun! More gigs to be confirmed soon.
04 March 2014
Today, I’m pleased to announce that I’m leaving my singer-songwriter lair in a hollowed out volcano just north of Nottingham, and heading out on the road in partnership with my friends at Caffè Nero, to take some music to places I’ve not played before.
Caffè Nero have been playing my music in their stores now for a few months, and it’s always cool when someone tells me they heard a track in there.
The tour begins on March 18th in Leeds and ends on April 1st in Central London. 17 gigs, 8 dates, 1000+ hot-chocolate-fuelled miles.
In addition to the dates with Caffè Nero, I will also be playing The Bedford in Balham, towards the end of the tour. The Bedford is a sought after London venue, and has played host to James Morrison, Paolo Nutini, KT Tunstall, Ed Sheeran and Newton Faulkner amongst others.
If you can make it along, these should be really fun, informal little gigs. Have a chat, grab a coffee, request a song and I’ll play it for you.

10 January 2014
Happy New Year! Hope it’s going well for you so far. I’m writing this having thawed out from a very cold morning singing a song outside to a camera for a video you’ll see soon. I think I lost a toe! We all have to suffer for our art sometimes though.
I wanted to let you know about a couple of things. Firstly, tomorrow night (Saturday 11th January) the kind folks at BBC Introducing in the East Midlands (surely the finest of all the BBC Introducing shows!) are playing another track and an interview we recorded this week. Was a lovely chat, so looking forward to hearing it back.
Secondly, I’m also excited that BBC Radio 2 are playing a track on Sunday Morning as part of the “Good Morning Sunday” programme with Clare Balding. Will be great to hear some of my music on the UK’s biggest radio station.
If you enjoy either of those, and want to let the programme teams know, you can always drop them an email or a cheeky tweet.
I’m plotting some live tour dates for 2014, and hopefully the odd festival appearance too. Keep up to date here or on Twitter.

My new album “Small Town Boy” is out now. It’s already getting a great response from radio, in reviews and at gigs. Really excited about this album project, and seeing where it goes.
I like that, I like that very much!
